Solid, natural colors are a safe choice for most package types. However, if you are the star of the photoshoot (for example a mother to be in a maternity session) then family members can stick with natural tones while mom wears something more vibrant to stand out. For senior photoshoots, bringing an accessory that defines a part of who you are will be memorable. For themed or holiday family shoots, lightly coordinated colors will work really nicely. That said - whatever makes you stand tall in the end trumps all of the above rules!

Other than minor guidance you will receive from me, I expect you to be as you are and engage with your loved ones without any stress about poses. Together we will record the candid dynamics that is unique to your family resulting in images that will be much more special to you than stiff poses. If anything, you can try to remember to open up your chest and hold your head high (imagine a string pulling the back of your head up).

For both men and women, some light makeup (foundation or powder) to even out your skin tone will go a long way. Yes - I recommend this!

I will always be prepared for rain and have various umbrellas that will look fantastic. (Fun fact: I once had a photo session where it was down pouring then sunny in 5 minute intervals—we ended our shoot with a gorgeous rainbow!) However, I understand if you would like to reschedule and we will do our best to accommodate!

Absolutely! Our package offerings are all inclusive of what is listed in the package. If a package mentions that 10 digitals are included, this means you receive 10 post-processed, high-resolution digital images. If you would rather not cap the number of digital images you receive, we do provide an add-on option to receive all the digitals.

Maë Lans is pronounced like "my lens". "Maë" and "Lan" are the first three letters of each of my children's names. (As a side note, the address mylensphotos.com will also take you to my site.)
